Once again The Children’s Trust Family Expos are spread out across the county to ensure that families and children from different neighborhoods will have access to all the resources, giveaways and entertainment that these annual events provide. Getting to these events to be held on July 22 at Booker T. Washington Senior High School in Miami, July 29 at Miami Dade College Kendall Campus, and August 5 at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, is easier than ever thanks to a partnership between The Trust and Uber.
Thanks to Uber, families will be able to use an Uber Voucher good for up to $15 each way. *
Here are the steps to redeem the Uber Voucher code:
- Download/open the Uber app
- Go to the Account section of the Uber app and click on Wallet
- Scroll down to “Add Voucher code” and enter code FAMILYEXPO
“This year with the addition of a ride-share service, we’ve eliminated transportation barriers, making easier for families to attend the Family Expo event closest to them,” said Trust President and CEO James Haj.
As well as all the fun, resources and giveaways families can count on during the Family Expo, The Trust will provide free meals from food trucks to the first 600 families who show up at each event. Meal vouchers will be distributed at each event on a first-come first-serve basis.
And finally, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital will also be hosting free EKG screenings at this year’s Family Expos. The Nicklaus Children’s team is trained to be out in the community and has screened thousands of children in Miami-Dade, some of which have been identified as needing extra medical intervention for heart irregularities.
