RFP 2025-04 HealthConnect in Our Schools

Child health, development and well-being affect educational achievement, behavior and future life success. The Children’s Trust, in collaboration with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County (DOH - Miami-Dade), will continue to fund a comprehensive school-based health initiative that increases access to health and wellness services for children and families. The approach involves nursing and mental health professional services and community referrals that promote a healthy school environment intended to identify, prevent and/or remedy student health problems. In addition, telehealth services will be integrated to expand the reach of services to students. This is a competitive solicitation open to current school health providers and other community health providers qualified to perform school-based health services.

The Children’s Trust Book Club offers free, monthly books by mail for children living in Miami-Dade County from birth through their 5th birthday. Parents register for monthly books in English or Spanish, along with special sets of Haitian Creole language books. Mailings include a parent guide with activities, information and suggestions on how to share the book with their children. Currently, the Book Club serves almost 50,000 young children throughout Miami-Dade County, with a membership goal of 60,000 by the start of the new funding cycle. This competitive solicitation will seek one or more vendors to provide the following services in support of the Book Club: content development, book buying, fulfillment (packaging and mailing) services, digital content creation, and related community events to engage book club families.

Community Engagement and Outreach grants provide community partners with an opportunity to seek funding for existing programs, advocacy efforts or events that support children and families in Miami-Dade County as well as the mission and values of The Children's Trust.
