By now, parents around Miami-Dade County know that summertime means the annual return of The Children’s Trust Family Expo, the largest, free, family resource events in our community. For the past several years, they’ve also come to realize just how hot an outdoor summer event can feel. But this year, the Family Expo events are getting cooler!
That’s because this year, the Family Expo is heading indoors. All three events will be held partly indoors, with exhibitors housed in air-conditioned venues to keep children and families cool in the summer heat. Don’t worry, many of the fun-filled activities children and families have come to expect will still be outdoors to take advantage of South Florida’s energizing sunshine.
What hasn’t changed is that the Family Expos still give parents and children the chance to enjoy a Saturday in the summer having fun while also picking up information on programs and resources, all while getting some cool items like backpacks, school supplies, and more. And it’s all completely free!
As always, there will be face painting, balloon artists, arts and crafts, a photo booth, and other outdoor games. There will also be music and dance celebrations and character shows, as well as live acts on the outdoor stages and don’t forget about the food trucks.
The Family Expo continues to be the best chance for families to connect with the Trust’s extensive provider network as well as other community agencies and organizations that serve them. This year’s events will be spread out at various locations and on different days to make sure to reach the largest number of our diverse population in Miami-Dade.
The Expo attracts thousands of visitors annually with excitement, entertainment & resources for all who attend. This year the three events will take place on weekends at the end of July and beginning of August to make it as easy as possible for families to attend and get information and resources ahead of the upcoming school year.
