Trust to Support Children, Families and Emergency Personnel During Coronavirus Pandemic Read Press Release

Monday, March 16, 3:20 p.m.

As a result of Miami-Dade County Public Schools announcing that it is closing schools from March 16 to March 20 due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and with the closure leading into regularly scheduled Spring Break, The Children’s Trust’s guidance for the next two weeks is as follows:

• If you choose to provide services for your program participants, following CDC and local health department guidelines, and maintaining DCF ratios, The Children’s Trust will reimburse you for those services.

If you are not able to provide services, The Children’s Trust has committed to reimbursing providers for expenses you would have incurred during this time.

• With regard to contractual obligations, please rest assured that The Children’s Trust will work with providers once we assess the full impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.

• Invoicing procedures will continue. Direct deposit payments will not be affected. Check payments will be mailed out rather than made available for pick-up. If your payment address has changed recently, please inform your program manager as soon as possible.

Please advise your program manager if you will be providing services as soon as possible.

The Children’s Trust will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.

We appreciate your efforts to ensure the safety and health of our children and families during this critical time.

Friday, March 13, 12:13 p.m.

The Children's Trust is actively monitoring the situation regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic’s impact on Miami-Dade County. The safety of everyone in our community is our first priority and we have been in close contact with the Office of the Mayor of Miami Dade County, our County’s Emergency Operations team and local and state health officials, while sharing and adhering to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We advise everyone to take all the necessary precautions to stay healthy.

We are currently following the direction of the Governor’s Office and Miami-Dade County Government and we are continuing to operate during regular business hours. As things evolve, we will keep you informed.

Kindly note:

  • Trust-funded providers should reach out to Program Managers routinely with updates on their operational status and ability to continue to serve children and families.
  • In the event that programs are required to shut down, we will evaluate the impact and determine the next best steps for our provider community.

The work that we do in this community is essential and makes a difference every day. Please stay well.
